The wider bands are made of bi-metal, essentially a thick plating on the outer surface. Subject them to gentle wear to lenghten the lifespan of the gold surface.
What is bi-metal? A layer of 22 karat gold alloy with a bright yellow color is bonded with sterling silver to form a sheet of precious metal with two distinct surfaces. The 22K layer is two to three times thicker than gold filled (plated) products giving it more durability. By weight: 12.50% 22K and 87.50% Sterling.
